What I want to learn about
I would like to learn about the shuttle disaster of the challenger, the recession in 1982 and the assassination attempts on Reagan and the pope. Also I really want to learn about the fall of the Berlin Wall and Mt. St. Helens.

Movies of the 70s
I loved the movies of the 70s. I believe that the 70s were some of the best times for movies. With Kubrick, Scorsese, Lucas and Coppola as innovative and genius directors of their time. I believe the 70s were somewhat of a rough patch and all these movies produced such as star wars gave some peoples minds a vacation. The movies of the 70s we watched in class all had awesome story lines and although the special affects weren't amazing the movies still I thought were special. Overall the movies of the 70s set the bar high for all movies of the future, and many movies out of that era are still regarded some of the greatest of all time and I agree wholeheartedly. I was always intrigued with war movies and apocalypse was a solid movie in highlight the real darkness of war and the effects of it. Then with more unrealistic movies such as Star Wars and Jaws kept me interested because it was action packed and high intensity. I truly enjoyed all of the movies we watched in class and to me it seems that it will be hard to beat for the upcoming generations.
Television of the 70s
I personally did not enjoy the television of the 70s that much. I believe the show that we watched that represented the conservative and liberal viewpoints highlighted both of them nicely, but a line was crossed. The television show that we watched focused too much on racial jokes and I did not find them funny at all. I believe there was a different type of humor during that time that people would not find funny now. I also believe that our humor would probably make the people of the 70s feel uncomfortable also. I did not enjoy the television shows because they focused too much on a sense of humor that just did not appeal to me. Overall the television of the era to me was mediocre, I wish that the jokes were a little more on a cleaner side regarding race because it is an extremely sensitive topic and the show we watched made some below the belt punch lines regarding them.

Music in general of the 70s
With the breakup of the Beatles, I believe that music took a significant turn in a short amount of years. Music now like disco was much more for dancing and romance type songs till played a big role in that. Bands like led zeppelin and punk rock also introduced a new genre that appealed to the younger generation of the time. This music connects to the decade because it shows a change from the 1960s big time. 1960s music was rather dull in the earlier years and the 1970s music was much more alive and strong presence. I feel like music such as disco created fashion trends in the 70s that are commonly associated with the music and time period. I enjoyed this music because it had much more emphasis and strong presence with heavy vocals and loud guitar. Also didn't mind disco and some of the songs had a killer saxophone in it, which was pretty cool.
Difference of Punk vs Disco
Punk and disco were really big during the 70s, but there was a pretty big difference between the two. Disco was much more harmonious and groovy type of music. Disco is the type of music you would listen to if you are dancing. This style is unique because it never before had music had so much more culture and liveliness behind it. Punk was much more ignorant type music which the youth listen to and I also prefer. Punk music was often filled with heavy guitar and loud lyrics differing from harmonious disco. This differed from most types of music because it was loud, and represented the younger generation of the time. Punk was unique because it represented the younger generation and only appealed to a specific group of people.
